Golden Lotus Healing World - Health resort in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City
About This Place
Golden Lotus Healing World brings the full Korean jjimjilbang format to Thao Dien — a concept still rare in Ho Chi Minh City — across a large, clean facility that draws comparisons from visitors who know the real thing in Seoul and New Jersey alike. The core offering is an all-day pass to a layered circuit: multiple wet and dry saunas at varying temperatures, a genuinely cold shock room, hot and cold foot baths, and a series of relaxation zones that include karaoke rooms, color therapy rooms, and a cinema. Korean food is available on-site, which adds to the authenticity and makes staying for several hours practical rather than just possible.
Pricing operates on a sliding scale — mornings and the period approaching midnight offer promotional rates, and a student package runs around 135,000 VND per person for the full Jjim Jil Bang service. The staff have consistently been flagged in reviews as friendly and attentive, occasionally holding off closing discounts to let guests time their entry for better value.
The trade-off is atmosphere control. On busy days, particularly weekends, some guests report that phone use and noise in the thermal rooms undercut the meditative quality the facility is set up to deliver. Management has placed signage but enforcement is inconsistent. For those who come with a group and treat it as a social day out rather than a silent retreat, this is largely a non-issue — the energy is convivial and the sheer scale of the space means quieter corners exist.
With over 13,000 Google reviews at 4.9 stars, the volume of positive feedback is hard to dismiss, even accounting for the documented discount-for-review practice some guests have called out. The bones of the experience — the facility quality, the breadth of amenities, the Korean food, the pricing flexibility — hold up independently of the review count.

Very nice place, very relaxing you that its legit because all the koreans come here.
We came on Sunday to just relax and enjoy the rooms and baths. Well…. It was not so relaxing. People ignore the signs, play tiktok videos off their phones and talk inside the thermal rooms, even one guy booted up his laptop in the meditation room. Would be nice if the management banned phones and enforced the rules. Would definitely not come back here because of it. However the Baths were nice and the sauna down there was peaceful. This we all enjoyed more. Drinks and food are also decent, little more on the pricey side and the massages too. Its such a shame because everything else was great.
I recently visited Golden Lotus Spa in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City. I’ve been to many jjimjilbangs, especially in South Korea, so this review is based purely on comparison and personal experience. What I liked: • The facility is large with many amenities and different relaxation areas. It appears quite new, and everything feels clean and well maintained. • The pricing is reasonable. It’s not cheap (especially after 12 noon), but it’s not overly expensive either. Morning and evening promos are good if you just want a short relaxation session. • There are staff members in almost every section assisting guests. Compared to Korea where most interaction happens only at reception, this feels more attentive. • The place is well ventilated, fully air-conditioned, has good lighting, and stable WiFi. What could be improved: • It can get very busy during peak hours. During full-price periods, it might be better to avoid placing trainees at the check-in counter. The waiting time can become frustrating, and first impressions matter a lot in hospitality. • They strictly separate a “working area” from the main relaxation floors. Unlike Korean jjimjilbangs where you can bring your bag or laptop to common areas just to relax or watch something, here they don’t allow laptops upstairs at all. This wasn’t clearly explained at check-in, which caused confusion. • The designated working area has large windows but no blinds. With Vietnam’s heat, the sun can make it uncomfortable even with air-conditioning. The cooler seating areas unfortunately have no power outlets, so charging devices becomes inconvenient. • Food and drinks are quite expensive for what you get. While it’s normal for spa facilities to price higher, the value doesn’t feel proportional to the cost. • It closes around 11 PM or midnight. Most jjimjilbangs, especially in Korea, operate 24 hours, which adds to the relaxation experience. The limited operating hours reduce that traditional jjimjilbang feel. • A more serious concern is staff professionalism and hygiene practices. During my visit, I observed employees inside the men’s sauna using their mobile phones. Some were even standing in the corner of the bathroom area seemingly trying to use their phones discreetly. This feels inappropriate and unprofessional. • The water station also raises hygiene concerns. While the area looks clean at first glance, the stainless steel cups are not properly washed. Staff appear to only rinse the used glasses quickly with water before placing them back for other guests. There was no visible proper washing or sanitizing process, which feels unhygienic and below expected spa standards. Overall, it’s a good, clean, and spacious jjimjilbang with solid facilities. A few operational adjustments—especially around check-in flow and flexibility with personal devices—would significantly improve the experience.
First time experiencing Korean style SPA. It was very nice experience. Staff is helpful and friendly. Also like that there's discounted price currently when it's near closing time. Staff even instructed me to wait 5min for even more discount. Different hot and cold pools and saunas in SPA area. Then shared areas for hanging out and relaxing in different kinds of therapy rooms.
