I happened to pass by and wanted to try some Korean food. The food here is incredibly delicious, and the staff are very enthusiastic and attentive. The fact that many Korean customers frequent this restaurant proves that the food is delicious and authentic. I've returned a second time and I promise this will be my favorite place 🍽️🥰

I’m Japanese, and I came to Haejang Gukbap Thao Dien for the first time looking for proper Korean-style soup rice. To be honest, I would never order the “Signature soup with Boiled pork intestines” again. If I want to eat “Signature soup with Boiled pork intestines” or “Signature soup with Boiled pork meat,” I would rather go to Đệ Nhất Cơm Canh Thịt Lợn (Thảo Điền). • Atmosphere The restaurant itself was very calm and quiet. The white walls, wooden tables, and chairs gave it the feeling of a Korean home-style restaurant. I visited just before 1 PM, and there was no crowd or waiting time. • Consideration for Customers The menu was available in Vietnamese, English, and Korean, and they even prepared instructions explaining how to eat the dishes properly. The table condiments were also very well stocked. • Staff Service The staff looked bored most of the time. Many of the Vietnamese staff could not communicate in English at all. After serving the food, they simply sat down and played with their phones. Compared to the staff at Đệ Nhất Cơm Canh Thịt Lợn (Thảo Điền), the difference in service quality was honestly night and day. • Food The main problem was the soup itself. The broth for the “Signature soup with Boiled pork intestines” was far too bland. I wouldn’t call it warm water, but when a restaurant leaves almost all seasoning adjustments to the customer, can that really be called a finished dish? The soup was also not hot enough. They seriously need to serve it boiling hot. The intestines had almost no seasoning or proper preparation. The quality of the cuts and cleaning process felt quite poor, and honestly, people who dislike organ meat would probably struggle to even look at it. On the positive side, the three types of kimchi (napa cabbage, radish, and greens) were excellent. Honestly, they should just open a kimchi specialty shop. The kkakdugi pieces were too large though, and should be cut smaller before serving. The seafood pancake had very little batter, which may come down to personal preference, but personally I would have preferred a bit more flour for a better balance. Overall, I would rate this place around 2.5 to 3.0 out of 5. That said, they do have several other soup dishes on the menu, so despite this disappointing experience, I will probably give the restaurant another chance in the future.

I ordered the pork and intestine soup. The portion was generous for one person. The soup was truly delicious, served with white rice and banchan, making it a full and comforting meal. The restaurant is clean, and the staff are helpful and attentive. One of them noticed I might be a first-time customer and kindly explained how to enjoy the soup properly, which I really appreciated. I’ll definitely come back.

June 2026. Grew up in Los Angeles Ktown and this little Korean soup spot is legit. Authentic and delicious soups and variety of kimchees. As good as anything in LA Ktown. Highly recommend!

it's so good, there are various of food that I really confused to choose. For what ? Cause everything so good tho !! I love this place. Those staffs also nice and friendly too. Just one word, great ! Good place to back and enjoy the meal !
